Grand PrixView – Montreal, Canada
After an eventfull Turkish Grand Prix, the teams crossed the ocean to participate in the Canadian Grand Prix. After an absent year, this famous track once more is on the calender. After seven rounds, Cokor leads the Challenge championship with a 14 point lead over Kammann.
The Sprint table is led by Rice, who has Fields breathing down his neck.
The Track
The Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, named after the famous Canadian driver, is 4,361 meters long and counts a total of
15 corners. Nine of them bend to the right. Saturday’s sprint race counts 35 laps, whilst the Challenge race will be
70 laps long. The Challenge race might not be held on the Saturday prior to the Sprint race, but a final decision
has not been made yet.
The tracks first corner is always a critical point, especially at the start of the race. Lot’s of incidents have happened there in the past. Also the hairpin, turn 10, always seems to provide a lot of action and it is a great overtaking possibility.
The Race
As stated above, Challenge times have not been decided yet, but the Sprint race will be scheduled at the normal time on Sunday, June 12 at 11:00 GMT.
